What is the name of your state? NC

Best friend was taken to court by her ex. I was just looking over the summons and on the back of it, it says
**** you can NOT sue to recover property worth more than $4,000.

wonder if this means its void now?

the stuff has a worth of about $15,000.

*** Nope. It only means that the most that the plaintiff can only win a maximum amount of $4000 from that (small claims) court.

thanks for your response

Well he is now harrassing her for his stuff. The judgement was handed down this past week.

She told him she didnt know if she will appeal or not.
Now she is wondering if she has to give him the stuff that would make it over $4000.

To bad she didnt notice it before they went to court. :(
