:confused:I live in Bardstown, Ky
I had someone living in my house, when they decided to leave they became untolerable, and they ended up hitting me and knocking me down and messing up my leg ..etc..I did file charges on her.
My question is do I have to let her back in wih a police escort to retrieve her things or can I hold them until she pays rent due?

Very simple... you CANNOT hold her property hostage and MUST return it to her. If you have a rent claim, etc., you will have to pursue that in court.

help

 Ok another question...We told them they could come back today in front of a officer..If we are not here when they come ..can we get in trouble..Or can we insist they get a warrant to get their things..
I will tell you why i am so insistant on causing her trouble..I have MS and when I confronted her on owing me 300 she hit me and knocked me down and tore my knee up and now I have to have surgery..I have filed criminal charges
And also she stole our towels and no telling what else when she left last week.

You still don't understand... You have NO rights to their property or to put any conditions on its return. All they have to do is tell you they want THEIR property and you MUST return it.

Not really relevant... but I understand your concerns re: a physical confrontation. You might need to make some alternate plans to make sure they get their property. Where is the property now??

And also she stole our towels and no telling what else when she left last week.
Then deduct those 'damages' from her deposit.

I do have the right to a fee for storage..seeing that it is taking ample amount of room in my home..and they just keep leaving it here and not coming when they say..right?And she cannot come whenever she wants, can she? I should at least get notification when she is coming, so she does not disrupt my family , right?

No. You have NO inherent right to storage fees. You would have to have a separate agreement for same.

And she cannot come whenever she wants, can she?
Of course she can.

Should?? Yes.
Have to?? No.
