New York. I made an agreement with someone to purchase something, no contract. But they lied about their actual willingness to sell the product in order to gain information on an appraisal of the product that I paid for. Once they received that info they canceled the deal. A judge said there was a specific legal term for this type of subterfuge but I forgot what that terminology is (it wasn't fraud). Any ideas please?
