What is the name of your state? Georgia

She and he lived together 4 years the last 2 in his house. She paid half of house payment. He kicked her out and two days later cancelled their wedding in Jamaica and booked another woman to take trip with him (not the wedding). She found out so she fixed that since the trip was booked in her name. Now he is suing her for the cost of her engagement ring which she has plus the entire cost of the trip which was paid for and she may be getting refund plus her share of the utilities for that last month she was there. Question is who gets the ring and should she pay him what it's worth?

This has been a very hotly debated topic on this board. Do a search and you can read them. The law could go either way and most times its a matter of opinion. It is said that it is a gift so its hers and others say its a contract and when the contract is broken it goes back to owner, even others say its like earnest money and goes to who ever didn't break the contract. There is no right and wrong. Just peoples opinions and ettiquette. I personally believe whoever called the wedding off loses unless they have good reason like she was caught in bed with someone. Again law could go either way, this is just my opinion and because there are different opinions you will probably get more now.

Most courts have ruled that an engagement ring is a 'conditional gift'.... given on the condition or expectation of marriage. If that marriage doesn't occur, the ring will normally be ruled the property of the purchaser (owner).

As for your other issues:
1) Trip: If she paid for the trip and subsequently cancelled it, then he has no claims on the refund. However, if he paid for the trip, he gets the refunded amount.

2) Unpaid utility bills: She is liable for the rent and utility bills that she had previously agreed to.
