What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

The person I sued in small claims had finally paid the judgment after almost 3 years. I had to institute a lien to get him to do it. He said he would take care of getting the satisfaction, but I am dubious about that. He may not and then counter-sue because I didn't. Is the satisfaction of judgment separate from having the lien rescinded? What should I do?
