Can you take it with you overseas if you retire? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia My in-laws plan on retiring in another year or so and they want to move back to columbia. someone once told my husband that this isn't legal, but I wanted to double check just to make sure: can they still get their social security benefits when they retire if they live in another country? basically they would keep their bank here and i guess have SSI direct deposit their checks into it and my husband and i would either send them the money or they would withdraw it from the account from a bank down there. i was told this is illegal. is that true? if so, is there a legal way for them to get their SSI retirement benefits while living in another country? |
