What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? GA
I care for my disabled 43 year old cousin. Right now he is receiving benefits from his deceased mother. I was reading that he could receive benefits from his father because his father is currently receiving benefits. His father's benefit should be a good bit more. I know his father receives a reduced benefit because he also receives a government pension. So my question is in calculating what my cousin could receive, would they go by what his father currently is getting in benefits or what he would be getting if he were not receiving a government pension? I hope that makes sense. Also my cousin was disabled before 22.
