In 2004 I was approved for Social Security Disability. I have never received any payments. I received a 1099 for 2005 for $25,000. I went to my local social security office and was told that since I receive Medical Retirement from my last job-due to an injury at work, that I would not receive any money and that this is an off-set because my retirement income is too high. I did not include this 1099 on my income tax return and now I am being audited for failing to report this amount on the return. I don't know where to go from here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
