What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

I was recently approved for Social security disability payments. It now appears my employer, a local governement will allow me to receive my pension early due to my disability. The pension would pay me about 85% of my earnings prior to retirement. Do I have to give up my social security disability or can I collect both the pension and social security benefits.

I have a brother that collects both .His pension is through the State though I believe .

Call SSA and ask about Gov. based pensions.
