All money paid to you and your spouse are considered. However, if this IHSS payment is funded by the state/local government, it is likely excluded from the calculation whether it was paid for you or for your spouse.

However, you are required to report it and then the local office verifies that you are only your husband's care provider and then the income is excluded from deeming. However, if you were filing for SSI for yourself, then it is counted as income to the couple.

You should be aware that although you are getting a wage and a W-2 form, there are no FICA/OASDI taxes withheld since this is considered non-covered wages and you do not get any Social Security credits for this work.
