SSI/SSD Approved. Back pay questions.

I know this is an older thread but I would also like to know about back pay.I have been approved for SSDI and waiting to hear how much my benefit will be and if I will receive any back pay.
Someone recently told me that SS doesnt pay as much back pay as they did in past years.Does any know how many months they will pay.In the decision it stated that I was disable beginning June 2006. So would I get back pay for all those months minus the 5 month wait or is there a limit as to how many months they will go back and pay?Thank you for any info.
