What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? South Dakota

Homestead purposes.

Many states allow someone elderly or disabled to not pay homestead taxes (or pay a reduced amount).

In the pdf file from the website, it says "You must be permanently and totally disabled by social security rules..."

So if someone were to receive SSI for one year and then be renewed for the next, does that make them permanently and totally disabled?
