5 year old ticket

What can I do if I recieve a failure to appear in court for a speeding ticket that is 5 years old? I recieved the ticket in june of 2000 and they are now sending a failure to appear. Why 5 years later? There is no warrarnt until the end of Nov. And this is serious, i dont need any jokes about getting pulled over ect........

You probably have a warrant for your arrest. One day when you least expect, flashing blue lights, suspended licence, "Step out of the vehicle please.", sitting in the back of a police car while a tow truck hauls off your ride, booked into jail, a phone call to a family member, etc., etc. Or you call the court and ask what you need to do to take care ticket. It will not go away, there is no statute of limitations.
