What is the name of your state?i'm from ny i got caught in nj
on the garden state parkway i got caught going 88 in a 55 zone. the ticket says a court appearance is required. why? (it wasn't a safe corridor or construction zone). what can i expect when i get there. can i delay the court appearance? can a lawyer really help me? the cop claims he got the speed by "paceing me"

I'm pretty sure that this was charged as a reckless driving. If it was, it will be a mandatory appearance. In VA a reckless driving charge is a class 1 misdemeanor. I'm sure in NJ it is similar.

Give us the statute number and you might get some more help.
