95 mph in a 65 mph in NH

What is the name of your state? NH

I have been reading some of the posts - sorry in advance if this question is redundant. My 17-year-old son with an otherwise clean driving record was pulled over on the highway at 11:00 July 4th going 95 mph in a 65 mph. He was issued a court date. I really have no idea how to proceed (I've read about the online traffic school). Do I need a lawyer? Could he lose his license? when do they consider jail (yikes!) as an option?

thanks for your help!!

I don't see a code on the citation - only that he was clocked with radar going 95 mph. There are 3 boxes at the top of the citation, the 3rd being checked, saying that he must appear in court on such date/time.

I'm not familiar with NH laws (try a Google search) but "Must appear in court" is a sign the concequences could be harsh in most areas. Giving an few attorneys in the area the citation was issued a call to get a feel what is at risk would be prudent.

I was wondering if it was just a speeding ticket or reckless driving ticket. Below is some information on reckless driving and the other two links have a lot of other information.
