| Rumors like over paying the fine is obviously a hoax. You need to talk to a lawyer, and take other legal precautions, plus slow it down. 20 over in many states is reckless driving that carries heavy points and fines. PLUS, you don't want to see what it can do to your insurance costs for the next 3 to 5 years , IF you are NOT cancelled. You can do jail time. In fact, in many states the officer could have jailed you , made you post bond, and impounded your car. In some states 12 over is a criminal charge, like Virginia from what I hear. I had 3 teenagers, one had a love for driving his Camaro Z28 |
