CA- I was a passenger in a car with a couple other people watching a few kids "street race" when all of a sudden the cops rolled up handing out citations for aid and abet a speed contest. My problem with this citation is this: I was merely a passenger in a vehicle whose driver chose to watch the race. Why would I be given a citation when i could not control the drivers decision to sit and watch? Should I fight this or just face the consequences?

Thanks in advance for any input to this.

You admit to being present at an illegal activity and did nothing to prevent the illegal activity from happening. Guilty as charged.
