Behavior of a lawyer?

pennsylvania is the state. we sent our lawyer a $1500.00 retainer at his request. $3000.00 was then sent to him to settle the case out of court. that was over eight months ago. up until about 5 weeks ago we hadn't heard from him. I called him 5 times, sent him 2 faxes, email him and he finally took my call. he told me he's been very busy. I asked him to send us some kind of letter telling us the case was settled out of court so we can put closure to this and he said he would try to send it next week. that was 5 weeks ago. Is this proper behavior for an attorney? And shouldn't send us an itemized bill of how the $1500.00 was spent? Thanks.

Lawyer has got your money, got the case settled out of court. As far as he's concerned his job is done. That seems to be the attitude of some lawyers out there. Best darn thing you can do is start calling on a daily basis until he gets ya the paperwork. In regards to the $1,500 ya don't need no detail. Concentrate on getting the paperwork ya need

Whatever was your case?

If your case was settled out of court you should get an agreement approved by the court or a signed agreement by other party. If I got the run around by an attorney I would contact the local bar association to file a complaint.
