What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota

Hello, we just acquired a small school bus that we are going to convert over as a vehicle for our band to get around from gig to gig. We mainly play in Minnesota so state lines are not an issue at this time. We are in the process of painting it and taking all the things off of it that say school bus on it. Naturally on our way to shows the passengers will want to have a few alcohol beverages. We want to keep everything legal and do it right. What are the laws pertaining to this? Do we try to license it as a RV or something else? Will we need a "divider" from the driver to the passengers? This is a very small bus that is on a 1 ton chevy chassis that only has 4 windows per side. There is 5 of us in the band but could see up to 10 or 12 people. This will not be used as any type of business or profit strictly personal band use. Thank You

Alas, there is no way you can get around the open container law in your private bus. The exception exists only for licensed charter operators. There's no divider or registration that will allow your passengers to drink.

Also, count your seats carefully.

With 15 or more passenger seats you are required to register the vehicle as a bus, which requires a CDL to operate. It sounds as if you don't know how many seats are in the vehicle.
