Busted Speeding...

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

Ok, I know I can prevent future tickets by slowing down in the future, I'll just show I am aware of that. ;-). Now, here's what I don't know...

Since I've goofed up and sped, (12 over, 42 in a 30), is there a chance I can keep it off my driving record? I'm trying to become a firefighter and this is devastating for my career potential.

I've got a few things working against me right now. 1, I can't request supervision, being that I had another ticket already within the last 6 months. 2. Also, I was recently in Wisconsin and had a moving violation, but it was changed to a non-moving violation on the grounds of a defective spedometer. Now, I just got caught in this speed trap. I'm not sure if or how I can get this off my record, but I'd really love to know if anybody has some light to shed here. Thank you!

If this is something that is that important to you then you may wish to consider sitting down a couple traffic attorneys to see what they have to offer. A local attorney is a very useful tool to have as they typically know what it is the courts want to hear, and can usually create the most favorable position for you. Many attorneys will offer a free/cheap consultation, so I advise you take advantage of that.

Good call, I'll definitely look into it. Do you know what kind of a price range I could be looking at?

I'm afraid I do not know the price ranges you are looking at, but sitting down with multiple attorneys might give you a better idea.
