What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

AB 1888 (Gatto - effective Jan. 1, 2013) modified the rules for traffic school, so now drivers with commercial licenses can go to traffic school if the violation occurred in a noncommercial vehicle. With the attendance at traffic school, under the new rules the violation will not count towards negligent driver status, but is not masked so can be viewed by insurance companies and employers.

Less clear - to me - is how it will work for those of us with regular noncommercial licenses. Does anyone know for sure if the violation will be fully masked so not visible to insurance companies?

Federal law prohibits CDL masking. It is superior to CA law. The conviction will likely only be ignored by the State of California, unless their statute forbids private insurance from considering these violations.
