Can I make a U turn on a green left arrow light

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

Can I make a U turn on a green left arrow light? I am not really sure although I have been driving for 15 years. Thanks.

Maybe you don't know because I could not find "u-turn" or "u turn" mentioned in the TX Driver Handbook (except no u-turn sign), or TX TRANSPORTATION CODE CHAPTER 545. OPERATION AND MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES, or any other search of any other TX statutes.

I know some states prohibit making u-turns at "controlled" intersections, other states like CA specifically have signs allowing u-turn on green arrow, and in some parts of MI you cannot even make a left turn (you have to go farther down the road, make a u-turn, then a right turn).

Not sure if there are any local ordinances against it. I guess as long as you do it safely, if you get stopped someday, it will be a game of stump the officer as he spends endless time trying to find a statute. After all, you are going left, just a long left.

PS: I just noticed your duplicate post, you should keep everything related in 1 thread. If it was not a divided divided roadway and you underestimated the turning radius of your vehicle, and ended up facing oncoming traffic from the left head-on, that was a potentially unsafe move, and I can see why you were cited.

Actually, in a situation where there is a left turn lane (in California) you CAN make a u-turn unless there is a sign prohibiting it.
