What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I was involved in an accident in NJ, without personal injury, and the officer issued me a careless driving ticket. I tried to pay online because court appearance required was not checked off, but the website said I was ineligible to pay online. I called the court and they said that careless driving in NJ has a mandatory court appearance requirement.

If I am pleading guilty, why do I have to go to court?

What happens when I get there?

Can I be charged with any other offense?

I wish I could just pay the fine and get this whole thing over with?
