What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Hello,
I recently received a carpool violation in San Francisco, here are the circumstances:
-Pulled onto the "carpool only" on-ramp from an alleyway across the street. I was already locked in by a solid white line when I saw the carpool lane sign. Was not visible from my entry point.
-Immediately saw a line of officers pulling people over and I flagged one down to try to explain to him my situation.
-He didn't listen to me at all, just took my info and told me to sign the ticket.

Looking at the ticket, he got my car's model type, my address, and my driver's license number wrong. (not just an old address, he wrote that a live in San Francisco which I do not, in addition to an incorrect apartment #)

I received the follow-up warning from the court (still with my wrong address and wrong DL #, I have no idea how it got here.)

Can I disregard this considering they don't have an positive identification written on the ticket except for my name and license plate #? More specifically, if I choose to disregard this and they send it to the DMV, they don't have my correct driver's license number, will they just assume this is the same person and still count against me?

If that sounds too idiotic, would taking pictures of my entry point without carpool signs be my best defense in court as opposed to all the of the mistakes on the ticket? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I honestly did not know that. I went to the courthouse today to check if I had any outstanding tickets based on my DL, they said no. So what do you guys think about just ignoring it? It doesn't have my correct DL #, so if the court sends it to the DMV, is it safe to assume that the DMV won't give me a point considering this ticket is not linked to my DL#?

Yes you CAN ignore it .. if its best for you? Probably not. Like the casinos, huh?

My main perspective is that I've done my due diligence. I went to the court by the specified date, they have no tickets for me on file. If I was regular joe shmoe with no experience with traffic court and I was told at traffic court that I no citations on file, I would assume it was dismissed. Does anyone know for sure what the DMV does in these situations?

I'm a student with zero income, had my car towed two weeks ago. I have nothing.
Doesn't mean you are not liable for the original violation. You may find yourself open to higher fines, or worse, if you choose to assume it was dismissed.
