If you don't want to appear yourself, you have two options:
You can stipulate to the citation, by mailing in payment before the court date. You'll take the full fine, and swallow three points.
You can hire an attorney from the county the ticket was issued in, and ask him to appear on your behalf.
Bear in mind, if you choose to dispute the citation, you
will have to appear in person on the trial date, whether you have an attorney or not.
