What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

My husband received a speeding ticket in VA, 77 in 65 (12mph over). We live in NC but he has a CDL. It is my understanding some of the rules are different for CDL's even though he was driving a personal (rental) vehicle.

Do we just pay the fine, and allow it go on his record - or will points be assessed because he has a cdl?

He has one prayer for judgement on record in NC (rolled through stop sign) from about 18 months ago.

Also, he has lost the ticket... any suggestions ?
