What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I got a ticket for causing a gridlock at intersection.
I signed the ticket, but the citing officer Did not sign the ticket and did not date the ticket.
Does this automatically void the ticket ?
If so, do I just request a hearing and mention that there is no citing officer's signature to the judge and request a dismiss of the ticket?

Appreciate any help/suggestion

Your signature is the important one because its your promise to appear on the date of your arraignment.

As for his signature, attesting that he witnessed the violation... blah blah.... he will testify to all of that in court if you choose to take it to trial. Since no harm is done to you or your ability to defend yourself... makes that a technicality that does not merit a dismissal.
