I received a ticket--my first speeding ticket in nearly 20 years--for 40 in a 25. The fine is $134.50. is it worth my while to attend the hearing to try to get the violation reduced? Seems to me that if it were, say 37 in a 25 I'd be looking at a lower fine and fewer points. What are my alternatives? If I do request a trial, will there be court fees involved that will end up costing me more than the original ticket?
