What is the name of your state? NJ

I was given a speeding ticket by a police officer who was sitting in the next town when he tracked me using radar. I was in my town, but the police officer was in his car in the next town, which is also in a different county. Is this permitted?

Thanks in advance!

It depends on if there is a mutual aide agreement between the two towns. If there is, then the cop has police powers in the other town.
