Question

Court appearnce to see if judge will lower ticket....need advice.

What is the name of your state? TX

I got a ticket for 97 in a 70. This is my first ticket, I am almost 19. I called the court to see if I could talk to the judge to work out an aggreement to lower my ticket. I talked to one lady and she said i had to send in a plea of not guilty and request a trial by the judge. So i started to fill out the paper work and then i had one more question o i called back and sple to a different lady who told me something different. She told me i had to send my paper work in, and then come in and see the county prosecuters, WHO WOULD THEN TELL ME IF THEY THINK ITS WORTH A COURT APPEARENCE, or if is hould just pay right then and there, and never see the judge. Has anyone had expierence in Guadalupe county (Seguin) Texas??????? Ive never been in a court room or a court house for that matter, I have NO IDEA what's going on, PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks

Plead Guilty

Go to your court appearance and plead guilty in hoping to get a low fine and ask for defensive driving school in exchange for your guilty. I had done this before and was facing 500 dollars in fines for reckless driving and pled guilty and got NO FINES, but just a defensive driving school - that was ten years ago.

Talking

By the way

By the way, I never saw DA. All I just went before the judge and pled guilty. Of course, it was in TN, so various rules might be different.

dude, don't you dare plead guilty. that's just stupid. what's the worst that could happen if you plead not guilty and they then find you guilty??? exactly, the same thing as if you plead guilty to begin with.

plead not guilty and be willing to make your case. more than likely, you will get your violation reduced to no points, or less points. you can listen to these other dudes on here and just admit you are guilty, pay the fine, and watch your insuranse premiums soar if you want**************.but i just think that's stupid.

guilty vs. not guilty

To quote flinching, dude!. If you plead not guilty and they then find you guilty, driving school will no longer be an option! If you plead guilty and ask for driving school the charge will not be available to public view and therefore your insurance company and anyone else who checks your driving record(i.e. an employer) will not see it. Your insurance rates will not go up. The fine is much cheaper than 3yrs of increased rates. At least that's how it works in CA, Texas may be different, but I doubt it.

to quote wedtstlasdjfopeu, or whatever his name is**************.don't follow any advice in here unless it's from someone in your own state. different states must be very different in how they operate. so don't listen to anyone outside your state.
