Dallas Speeding Ticket

What is the name of your state? Texas

I have a friend who got a speeding ticket in Dallas county (Farmers Branch to be exact) and now its past his court date and its turned into a Warrant.

Is their anything he can do to get out of it? If not dismiss it completely but to get it reduced?

Nope, he done screwed himself. When he failed to show up in court he was found guilty and gave up his right to appeal. He has 2 options, turn himself in to the police with enough money to cover his bail or do nothing and wait to be arrested one day.

I am not a lawyer or anything, and know very little about the law, but Texas speeding is a Criminal Offense. I may be wrong here, but I am under the assumption that you are not guilty until either:

1. Trial and Guilt Verdict
2. Plea of Guilty/ No Contest

Please do not quote me here, because I am not a Lawyer, but that is my basic understanding. My Brother got a ticket, and the same happend to him, his case was later put on Deferred Adjudication, and in the long term dismissed. Do tell your Friend to check with a Lawyer on this.

Your brother got lucky. It typically does not turn out that way.
