What is the name of your state? California

Need to know if anyone ever hear this ever processs been used. Got a fax from LAPD west traffic devision using internet i confirmed that address and phone number matches. Fax had officer name and case number and asked to contact him regarding traffic accident.

I called but he was not there and got answer machine, is it standard practice for detective to send fax number to company instead of just calling or showing up in person, or sending letter by mail?

p.s. no accident have occured, have talk to all drivers and examed all cars and see no visual damage

Is it standard practice? No. But, if it works, why not?

little concern about scam. Also confused on way he got fax number as didn't get call from any cops asking for fax number. Guess will need to give a call and find out what's going on.
