What is the name of your state? TX

my friend received several tickets while he live in LA. He appeared for some but the computers were down so the judge told him not to worry about them. Later he went to pay off some other tickets to get his driver's license reinstated and the computer only showed three citations which he paid. He license was reinstated and then he turned over his LA license in February and got a TX license. Just this month, 5 years after his very last ticket, they issued a warrant out for his arrest for unpaid tickets.

Does he have any options besides paying the tickets he told were dismissed?

And if he does have to pay does he need to go to LA in person to do it or can he resolve it from here without losing time from work?

"Does he have any options besides paying the tickets he told were dismissed?"
Your post doesn't say anything about his being told they were dismissed, only that the computers were down and he was told "not to worry about them.", that is not the same as dismissed. Simply, they weren't dismissed and are still active warrants.

"And if he does have to pay does he need to go to LA in person to do it or can he resolve it from here without losing time from work?"
Have him call the issuing court in California and ask them.

Damn, I hate it when a state tries to copy a city!! And though both are on the water... LA has far more hurricanes than L.A.!!
