DMV fine & Lien on my mortgage

What is the name of your state? NJ

In December,2001 when my lawyer was doing the deed work, they told me my EX had a $100 lien on the mtg from the NJDMV. A week or 2 later they told me it was cleared.

I am supposed to close on a re-fi on this coming
Monday & the title company said the $100 is still there. Asking my EX is NOT an option.. I won't get an answer or I would get lied to.

How can I find out if this is paid? I have an
e mail to DMV & the lawyer told me he see what was in the file.
