Hi,

I recently got a citation for going 48 in a 35 in North Richland Hills, TX. The street is an access road to an interstate (I-820).

I turned onto the road from one of the neighborhood streets and was pulled over less than a mile later.

From the place I pulled onto the road and the place I was stopped, there is no posting of the speed limit.

Is this a legitimate excuse and if so, do I need to someway prove that this is true in court?

You should research (any basic drivers manual should have this information) the laws on what speed limits to assume when there is no posted limit. That should give you a start.
