What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? -Oregon- My friend is going to traffic court next thurs. He has had mutiple moving traffic violations (speeding) which resulted in his licence being suspended by DMV for a month.(he did not go to court ,just paid these tickets)- he got it back after the month was up-but was told if by DMV if he had any more violations he could have licence suspended for a year. He ran red light-hence court date. Question is 3 parts-1) if foung guilty will his licence be taken on the spot, or will there be a time lag ? 2) if he loses oregon licence does that mean he can't get one in anouther state for the same year? 3) would resesidency in anouther state make a difference?-thanx for any info.

1) if foung guilty will his licence be taken on the spot, or will there be a time lag ?
it depends on how long the conviction is reported to the DMV. That can depend on a number of different factors.

2) if he loses oregon licence does that mean he can't get one in anouther state for the same year?
Nope. Once his license is suspended in Oregon, the suspension is reported to other states. Oregon is a member in the Driver's License Compact... Google that and the Driver's License Agreement. You'll find out more.

3) would resesidency in anouther state make a difference?-thanx for any info.
Nope. Same reason as above.
