I'm about to get my license suspended in TN and it's a PA license. The thing is TN is not a member of the Driver License compact which means their not obligated to share the information with Pennsylvania. Does this mean they do not whatsoever share the info and I can still drive within PA or will they still share the info if they choose too?

Thanks, sorry if this is in the wrong forum

If your license is suspended in one state, all the other states, typically, mirror that decision.

Tennessee reports license suspensions to the National Driver Registry. Pennsylvania will suspend your license based on this entry. All states are required to report suspensions to the NDR, it is not optional like the DLC.

Alright appreciate it. Just curious then what is the point of the DLC if they all report it to the NDR?

The DLC reports traffic infractions to the driver's home state, this allows points or other penalties to be added to the driver's driving record. The NDR just reports suspension's of driving priveliges, if suspended in one state, you are suspended in the other 49.

Well the compact REQUIRES penalties to be applied. The NDR just provides the information for states to do what they wish. Most will suspend you if you're suspended elsewhere, or at a minimum refuse to renew.

First PA does not assign any points to your License from out of state tickets. Next TN can not suspend your PA license, only PA can suspend your PA license.

Now TN can suspend your right to drive in TN with your PA licenses.

The compact is an agreement between states that says your home state will make sure you pay any fines you might get from another state. If TN told PA you did not pay, PA will tell you to settle the matter with TN or they would suspend your license. There is no requirement that PA has to assign points to your license, this is left up to individual states.
