What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

My husband recently renewed his CA drivers license. He had to take the written test, and forgot to remove his glasses to take the vision test and photo. (He has bifocals, but uses the glasses only for reading).
Since he never wears his glasses while driving, I'm afraid he'll get in trouble some day with that restriction on his license.
I've encouraged him to go to DMV to get a corrected license, but he hasn't (and may never go).
What is the penalty for driving without glasses if that vision correction is checked on the license?
Thanks in advance for your response. I was unable to find the answer myself online.
