driving while suspended

Pullman, Washington

I recieved a speeding ticket in January of 2008, in WA which I paid with a moneyorder. I just got pulled over for not properly yeilding at a crosswalk and the officer informed me that my license has been suspended since May and gave me a ticket for driving while suspended in the third degree. I don't have a court date yet I'm not sure what to do or say in court? I figured out the the money order arrived late and they added a late fee and never told me about it and that is why it was suspended because I didn't pay the late fee which I am paying tomarrow. I don't know what to do about court I really had no idea that my license was suspended until I was pulled over and they told me. What are they going to charge me with in court and what should I say in court. Please help I've never been to court before. Thanks

What are they going to charge you with? They already charged you with the driving under suspension as well as the crosswalk violation.

The DWLS 3rd is good for 90 days and/or $1000. You should consult a lawyer familiar in the court in which you are to appear to see whether there is any chance that the facts of your situation and your restoration of license prior to court could mitigate the sanctions or charges.

The crosswalk violation was a ticket for $125 a green slip, then she wrote out another one on a yellow slip with "driving while suspended 3rd degree" and told me that I was going to be notified of a court date. so I don't think Ive been charged for the dwsl, I want to know what to do in court to get the least amound of driving suspension or non at all. Thank you

Are you living in the dream world? You got a citation for driving while suspended 3rd degree and told to expect the notification of the court date. Of course you're being charged.
What makes you think otherwise.

Reread my previous post.
