| I was arrested in Indiana on driving while suspended with priors on Nov. 30, 2000. The court date on the ticket was 1-11-01. I showed up to court only to find out there was no court on that date. I then recieved a letter stating my court date was 2-21-01. I again went to court only to be told there was no paper work on me. Again I recieved a court date by mail for 3-14-01. Once more I showed up to be told there was no paperwork on me. In the meantime a local attorney and my bondsman contacted the court to find out what was going on. They were both unable to find any information on my case. On 4-08-01 an officer came to my front door with a re-arrest order. Seems someone misspelled my last name. So all paperwork is listed under the wrong name. I have seen the bond papers and they have the correct name on them. Is there anything I can do to prove I was at all the court dates? It doesn't seem fair that I'm out $350 just for bail and now a contempt charge in addition to all the original problems. All because some clerk somewhere made a typing error. Oh yeah, the only charge is driving while suspened with priors. No alcohol, drug, or any other charges. Thanks in advance for any help. |
