Driving without a valid license in Illinois

I was given a citation ofr driving without a valid
license in Illinois.

What is maximum penalty for this offense?

I have no other violations on my record and I have
obtained a valid license in Illinois.

My interpretation of the Illinois statute is
that this type of violation is a Class A misdemeanor but I am trying to confirm that
interpretation.
