Angry Employer failed to show insurance now suspended

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but,...My husband, Frank, was driving a semi for an owner operator. Frank got a speeding ticket and we paid it. The owner of the semi was to show the state proof of insurance. About a month after the ticker, the owner withdrew his lease from the company he was leased to...so my husband was unemployed. While waiting for owner to find new company, Frank found a different job. Well, I found out today that my husband is suspended indefinately due to failure to show proof of insurance and there is a $225.00 reinstatement fee.

The company took a copy of the ticket when my husband got it. It was their responsibility to show the insurance because it was their truck. Now my husband is stuck unable to work because of what they failed to do. Is this something that can be handled in small claims court or should we really get a lawyer? I really don't know how to handle this.

Anyone been in this situation before? Any advice? Thank you so much in advance. And Merry Christmas to all. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

No it was your husbands reponsibility because he was driving said uninsured vehicle. Why didn't our husband ask for the proof of insurance before he left the company?
When you find yourself in a legal dilemna, ask yourself:

    What would Denny Crane do?

Honestly, getting tickets isn't a habit. Didn't think about the state going to ask for it. the way the owner left the other company was pretty dirty and it was really a mess.
