South Dakota: Is it possible to expunge or seal a reckless driving charge from your record.

Occurred November 3, 2007. Only violation in 15 years. iIf not, how many years until it no longer is an issue?

Thanks!

AN ANSWER to your question

Check with your local DMV for a copy of your driving report.

To obtain a driving record, you'll have to fill out a form. Forms are available online, and at exam stations. Use the form for individuals.

Completed forms MUST be notarized if sent by mail.

It costs $4 to obtain a driving record, in addition to the 4% state sales tax, and any local taxes. Checks should be made out to the Department of Public Safety.

Send the forms and payment to:

The Department of Public Safety
Driver Licensing
118 West Capitol Ave.
Pierre, SD 57501
There are five exam stations, where you may obtain a copy of your driving record in person:

3716 South Westport Ave.
Sioux Falls, SD

910 4th St.
Brookings, SD

2729 West Highway 12
Aberdeen, SD

1300 E. Catron Blvd.
Rapid City, SD

1900 W. Kemp Ave.
Watertown, SD
Bring ID and $4.00 exactly or write a check.

(Ref: website South Dakota DMV info--not a gov. agency --advises to check with the DMV even though they make efforts to keep info current.)

Good Luck with this
