Expunging a prior traffic violation

Hello everyone. I have a question I hope someone can help me with. In February of 1996 I recieved a traffic violation for failing to stop at a stopped school bus. I was advised by the public defender to just pay the fine and have my licences suspended for 30 days. I was 18 at the time and could not afford an attorney. I have not recieved a single traffic violation since. I am a Flight Instructor building my hours to go to an airline. The Problem is that every airline application asks if I have ever had my drivers license suspended or revoked. Answering yes to this question substantially lowers ones chances of recieving an interview in an already very competitive job market. What are the chances of being able to have this removed from my record so that I can answer that question as though I have never had a suspension of driving privileges. Also would the fact that I have not had any traffic violations since help any?

There is no way to have this removed from your record and lying on your application will be reason for dismissal. Answer the question truthfully and note that you have had no violations since that time and hope for the best.
