Fail to Stop Emerging from Driveway when there is no stop sign

What is the name of your state? Oregon

Hi,

I just received a traffic ticket today in Washington County, Oregon. I was trying to exit from a shopping plaza. However, when I exited the plaza, there was no stop sign. Hence, I did not stop completely, and slowly merged to road. Then, I was stopped by an officer for "Fail to stop emerging from driveway", I have a clean driving record for 8 years. There was no stop sign there, and some of the places in the area do have stop signs. I would definitely stop if there is a stop sign. Also, on the ticket, the officer clicked on "highway". Given the facts above, can I dispute for the ticket? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Mike

Of course you can dispute it. However, before you do that and look like a total idiot, re-read the driver's handbook you were given when you first applied for your license.
