Failed to Yield to a PedestrianWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA This was at a cross walk(no signal) at 3rd st and Wall St in Los Angeles downtown. I was driving westbound on 3rd st when I pass the cross walk and I saw a guy stick his head out in front of a large truck. The truck is parked at the curb side and I was in the lane right next to the truck, and I could not see the guy until it was too late. So, I got a ticket for failed to yield to a pedestrian. It was a trap, they were just waiting there to give ticket. I went back to try to take a picture of the truck blocking the view, but the truck is gone already. There were at least 10 motorcycle police officer at this intersection waiting to give out ticket. |

or is this a bulletin to let me know not to cross in that section anymore? you see a crosswalk, you stop, slow down and proceed carefully. ESPECIALLY in that downtown area. |

I was going about 20mph, I could not see the guy crossing because there was a truck parked there. |

In *this* case, it sounds like the pedestrian failed in his duty to cross safely...

| well, in the downtown area (i know those streets, i worked there for years...wait...i worked in the downtown area...not the streets) you always proceed carefully. pedestrians always have the right of way. you see a crosswalk, you move carefully. if there is an obstacle...you move even MORE carefully. |

| Uh...no they don't. There is a level of care pedestrians have in crossing the street and should do so when its safe and jumping out in front of someone in order to prove a point most certainly is not safe.
