What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado

My girlfried was recently stopped by state troopers and ordered to appear in court for failure to provide evidence of insurance. She spoke with the DA who advised her to fax proof of insurance, which, she duly did. The DA spoke with her and said this was sufficient and said he would dismiss the case.

One month later she was pulled over by another statetrooper and her license seized for failure to show up in court.

She called the DA as he clearly forgot to dismiss her case, but he was incredibly rude to her and has since taken to not returning her repeated calls. She has been without a license for 5 weeks, and must now attend another court date for driving with a revoked license.

What can she do to regain her license when the DA dealing with her case does not want to know?

Any suggestions?

Does she have a receipt that she sent a fax to the D.A.?
Has she asked for a copy of her file at the courthouse?
Has she consulted with a lawyer?
Google:How to choose a lawyer for info on this.
