A careless driving ticket was issued. The driver believes he is innocent. So, he followed the directions to opt for the court date on the ticket. A week before the court date a notice was sent with a new court date (a month later). Driver had to change his schedule (he travels abroad a lot) to accomodate this new date. Then, a week before that date another notice was sent for yet a different court date. Plans had to be changed again. Then, a week before that date another notice was sent... you get the idea, 3 changes (within 3 months).
Is this a trick to make him plead guilty and just shut up and fork over the cash?
Well, it worked. That's exactly what he did. Along with the payment he included a letter explaining the position he was in and the unfairness of it all.
So, the bill was paid and that was the end of that... or was it?
While out of the country, they returned all his paperwork (check included) with a new court date!!! only 5 days away!

Now he has to fly back to avoid missing the date ( which would result in a warrant.)

Is there a limit on how many times a court date may change by the court?
