Getting pulled over illegally!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the name of your state? Washington

I have a friend who was pulled over for a suspended license. I understand that driving suspended is illegal, but can you be pulled over at night because the cop who "happens" to be driving by can tell who you are in the dark. I guess the question I am trying to ask is it legal for a police officer to pull you over because he says that he recognizes you at night. I know for a fact that when i drive by anyone at night i cant tell you there facial features or anything weather or not there is streets lights. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! If you cannnot or do not know the answer PLEASE tell me how or where I can find this information I am desperate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank-you

Yes, you can legally be pulled over for that.

Well, if the officer knows you - and the car you drive - and he can ascertain that your license is suspended, then he certainly CAN pull you over for that. The identity of the driver can also be confirmed by running the registration.

If I see a car that I believe belongs to Johnny Baddriver, and it looks like Johnny in the seat, I can run the plates to confirm if it's a car that belongs to Johnny (or a family member, girlfriend, etc.). When I confirm that, if I also have confirmation or recent knowledge of Johnny's license status being bad, I can make the stop JUST for that.
