Help!What is the name of your state? Virginia Any idea of what my outcome will be on a 3rd offense of reckless driving in 2 years or less? Any good lawyers you could refer me to that is willing to help me stay out of jail? |

| Nobody here is psychic. Only the judge can decide what your punishment will be. If you find the statute number you are being charged with, Google "virginia [statute number here]" (without the quotes or brackets, of course) and perhaps you can find all the info you need on max fines/jail time.

| Well for sure you're going to get a whopper of an abusive driver tax unless it gets repealed as a result of this years election campaign (this is right up there with the car tax initiative of a few years ago as the most hated taxation). Reckless driving (unless you were driving on suspension and you killed someone) is a misdemenaor. $2500 fine and up to a year is possible. There's no specific increase in penalties for repeat offense What you are going to get depends on what court you are in, and what it is that you actually did. Doing 50 in a 35 will probably get you suspended and a fine. Doing 100 will get you jail time. By the way that's 18 points. I'd seriously consider the driver improvement program. |
